This page exists for one reason: to make it easy for you to meet up and dive with us as we move along the 50dives route. If you’re a certified diver who’s thinking, “Cool—when are you going to be near me, and how do I join?” you’re in the right place.
Because this is an active, real-world project, the route is a mix of confirmed stops and planned stops. Some details only firm up once we lock in local conditions, shop availability, and travel logistics. We’ll always be transparent about what’s confirmed vs. what’s still taking shape—and we’ll make it simple to plug in when we’re near you.
Planned vs. confirmed: what you’ll see here
We think it’s better to share our direction early—so divers and shops can raise a hand—without pretending everything is finalized months in advance.
Confirmed stops
These are the meetups we can confidently coordinate right now. A confirmed stop typically means we have:
- A specific location/area
- A target date window (and sometimes a primary day)
- A clear meet point and time plan
- A defined host shop/boat/shore plan (when applicable)
When a stop is confirmed, we’ll post the practical “show up and dive” details as soon as they’re ready.
Planned stops
Planned stops are the next best thing: the places we’re aiming for, in approximate order, so you can tell us:
- “I’m in that area—please keep me posted.”
- “My shop can host this.”
- “I can help coordinate access / permits / local tips.”
If you see your state/region listed as planned, that’s your invitation to reach out and help turn it into a confirmed meetup.
> We’re not going to post guesses disguised as certainty. If a detail is still fluid, we’ll say so.
How a stop (and meetup dive) works
Every stop has the same goal: a fun, safe, well-run dive with good people—without turning it into a complicated “event” that only works if everything is perfect.
Here’s how it typically flows:
1) We choose the dive style that fits the location
Depending on the site and what’s available locally, a meetup might be:
- Boat dive(s) through a local operator
- Shore dive with an agreed entry/exit plan
- A shop-hosted day where the shop handles the logistics and we plug into their system
We’ll always default to the option that’s safest and most straightforward for visiting divers.
2) We publish the meetup essentials (not noise)
When a stop is live, we focus on what you actually need:
- Where to meet (shop, dock, beach access point)
- The timing (arrival buffer, splash window, and expected wrap-up)
- Any requirements we know ahead of time (cert level expectations, gear notes, local procedures)
If something is still pending—like final site selection based on conditions—we’ll mark it clearly.
3) You show up ready to dive
These are meetups, not performances. Come for the dive, the camaraderie, and the shared stoke. If we’re filming or capturing media, it won’t turn the day into a production set. The priority stays where it should be: good diving and good decision-making.
4) We keep the group coordinated without making it a “whole thing”
We’ll use simple coordination: a clear pre-dive plan, an easy way to confirm you’re in, and a practical backup plan if conditions shift. If a site changes, the goal is to keep the meetup intact—just adapt the location.
What we need from you to coordinate a stop
If you want to dive with us—or you want us to stop in your area—sending the right info makes everything faster.
When you reach out, include:
- Your city/state (or closest dive hub)
- Your ideal date window (even a rough “sometime in October” helps)
- Boat or shore preference (if you have one)
- Your certification level and typical comfort range (depth/current/temperature)
- Whether you’re coming solo or with a buddy/group
- If you have a local shop/operator you recommend (name + link is perfect)
If you’re a shop, charter, or local organizer, tell us:
- What kinds of dives you run most often (shore/boat, reefs/wrecks/kelp, etc.)
- Your typical booking lead time and any constraints we should know
- The cleanest way to plug divers into your existing process
The more clearly we can match expectations to the local reality, the smoother (and more fun) the day will be.
Expectation-setting (so nobody gets surprised)
A route page can create uncertainty if it’s either too vague (“we’ll be everywhere!”) or too rigid (“we’ll be there at 9:07 AM no matter what”). We choose the honest middle.
A few realities that affect dive travel:
- Conditions drive final site choices. If visibility, swell, current, or weather pushes us to a different site, we’ll pivot.
- Capacity matters. Boats and guides have limits. Some meetups may require you to reserve through an operator.
- Local rules aren’t optional. Permits, marine park rules, and operator policies will always be respected.
- Safety comes first. If a plan doesn’t make sense on the day, we change it.
We’ll do our part by communicating early and clearly. You can help by staying flexible on the exact site and bringing the mindset of a good dive buddy: prepared, on time, and easy to work with.
Want us to add (or prioritize) your area?
Perfect. This page is designed to become more useful as more divers and shops raise their hands.
Send us a message with:
- Your location
- The best time of year to dive there
- A shop/operator recommendation (if you have one)
- Any “wish I knew this before visiting” local advice
If enough people are aligned around a region—or a shop is ready to host—we can often turn a planned stop into a confirmed one quickly.
Next step: check the latest route notes and reach out
If you’re ready to meet up, don’t overthink it. Tell us where you are and when you’re hoping to dive. We’ll reply with the most current route picture and what we need to lock in a stop.
If you’re a shop or operator, we’d love to collaborate on a clean, diver-friendly meetup that fits your normal operations and makes visiting divers feel at home.
See you in the water.
